## Response Parameters

| Field  | Type   | Description                                                  |
| ------ | ------ | ------------------------------------------------------------ |
| result | string | The network ID as a decimal string. "143" for Monad Mainnet. |

## Use Case

The `net_version` method is essential for:

* Network identification
* Multi-network dApp support
* Transaction signing verification
* Network switching logic
* Configuration validation
* Legacy compatibility checks

## Error Handling

| Status Code | Error Message | Cause                            |
| ----------- | ------------- | -------------------------------- |
| 403         | Forbidden     | Missing or invalid ACCESS-TOKEN. |
|             |               |                                  |

import { ethers } from 'ethers';

const provider = new ethers.JsonRpcProvider('https://go.getblock.io/<ACCESS-TOKEN>/');

const network = await provider.getNetwork();
console.log('Network ID:', network.chainId.toString());

// Verify Monad Mainnet
if (network.chainId === 143n) {
    console.log('Connected to Monad Mainnet');
}
```
