Scroll

GetBlock provides fast and reliable access to Scroll nodes via JSON-RPC API. Connect to the Scroll network without running your own infrastructure.

Scroll is an EVM-equivalent zkEVM Layer 2 that settles to Ethereum using zero-knowledge validity proofs. It executes standard EVM bytecode, so existing Ethereum contracts, JSON-RPC methods, and tooling such as Foundry, Hardhat, Ethers.js, and Viem work without modification. Native gas is paid in ETH bridged from Ethereum L1. Transaction security is inherited from Ethereum: batches are proven with succinct validity proofs verified on L1, and the network targets roughly 3-second block times.

Key Features

  • EVM Equivalence: Bytecode-level compatibility with Ethereum; contracts and tooling port over unchanged

  • Validity Rollup: Batches are proven with zero-knowledge validity proofs verified on Ethereum L1

  • System Predeploys: Scroll system contracts live at fixed 0x53... addresses (WETH, L1GasPriceOracle, bridge contracts)

  • Ethereum Tooling: Compatible with MetaMask, Foundry, Hardhat, Remix, Ethers.js, and Viem

  • ETH Gas: Native gas is paid in ETH; an additional L1 data fee covers data availability on Ethereum

  • L1-Backed Finality: Transactions are final once their batch proof is verified on Ethereum L1

TECHNICAL DISCLAIMER: AUTHORITATIVE JSON-RPC API SPECIFICATION.

GetBlock's RPC API reference documentation is provided exclusively for informational purposes and to optimize the developer experience. Scroll implements the standard Ethereum JSON-RPC interface; the canonical specification for these methods is the Ethereum JSON-RPC specification at ethereum.org, and Scroll-specific behaviour is documented at docs.scroll.io.
