# web3\_clientVersion - Robinhood

Example code for the web3\_clientVersion JSON-RPC method. Complete guide to using the web3\_clientVersion JSON-RPC method in GetBlock.io Web3 documentation.

Returns the current client software version. On Robinhood Chain, this returns the underlying Arbitrum Nitro client version, confirming that the network runs on standard Nitro execution software.

## Use Cases

* Detecting which client implementation a node runs (nitro confirms Arbitrum Orbit lineage)

## Error Handling
