eth_blockNumber - Robinhood

Returns the current latest block number. With Robinhood Chain's 100ms block cadence, blocks are produced approximately every 100 milliseconds — 20x faster than Base's 2-second blocks. Blocks accumulate rapidly, so latest moves very quickly.

Use Cases

• Cheapest possible liveness probe

• Computing time elapsed since a known block (multiply diff by ~0.1 seconds)

• Polling for new blocks in indexers (poll interval should account for 100ms cadence)
