# gethashespersec - Dogecoin {disallowed}

This method returns a recent hashes per second performance measurement while generating.

{% hint style="info" %}

* Returns 0 when the node is not actively mining
* This is a legacy method primarily used for CPU mining statistics
* For network-wide hash rate, use `getmininginfo` instead
  {% endhint %}

## Response Parameters

| Field  | Type   | Description                                              |
| ------ | ------ | -------------------------------------------------------- |
| result | number | Hash rate in hashes per second. Returns 0 if not mining. |
| error | null | Error object (null if no error). |
| id     | string | Request identifier.                                      |

## Use Case

The `gethashespersec` method is essential for:

* Mining performance monitoring
* Hash rate verification
* Mining equipment testing
* Performance benchmarking
* Mining statistics

## Error Handling

| Error Code | Message   | Cause                            |
| ---------- | --------- | -------------------------------- |
| 403        | Forbidden | Missing or invalid ACCESS-TOKEN. |
