# getblocktemplate - Dogecoin

Example code for the getblocktemplate JSON-RPC method. Complete guide on how to use getblocktemplate JSON-RPC in GetBlock Web3 documentation.

This method returns the data a miner needs to construct a candidate block. It is used by mining software rather than by wallet or payment integrations.

{% hint style="info" %}
Dogecoin is merge-mined with Litecoin, so production mining uses an AuxPoW workflow rather than solving this template directly. The template is still returned in the standard shape.
{% endhint %}

## Use Cases

* **Mining Software**: Build a candidate block to work on
* **Pool Operation**: Distribute work to connected miners
* **Subsidy Inspection**: Read the current coinbase value

## Error Handling

| Error Code | Message         | Description                                   |
| ---------- | --------------- | --------------------------------------------- |
| -32700 | Parse error | Request body is not valid JSON |
| -32600 | Invalid request | The JSON sent is not a valid request object |
| -32603 | Internal error | Node failed to read the requested chain state |
