# Corn (BTCN)

GetBlock provides fast and reliable access to Corn nodes via the JSON-RPC API. Connect to the Corn network without running your own infrastructure.

Corn (Maizenet) is an EVM-compatible Layer-2 built on the Arbitrum Orbit (Nitro) stack, with a twist: its native gas token is BTCN, a Bitcoin-backed token, rather than ETH.

That makes Corn a Bitcoin-denominated execution environment where fees and much of the on-chain economy are paid in bridged Bitcoin while developers keep the full Ethereum toolchain. Because Corn is EVM-equivalent, standard Solidity contracts, the `eth_*` JSON-RPC surface, and tooling such as Foundry, Hardhat, Ethers.js, and Viem work without modification.

This reference documents the Ethereum-compatible JSON-RPC interface, available over HTTP and WebSocket.

### Key Features

* **Bitcoin-Backed Gas**: Native gas is BTCN, a Bitcoin-backed token — fees are paid in BTC terms, not ETH
* **Arbitrum Orbit L2**: Built on the Arbitrum Nitro stack, inheriting its proven rollup execution and sequencer model
* **EVM Equivalent**: Runs standard Ethereum bytecode and tooling (Foundry, Hardhat, Ethers, Viem) unchanged
* **EIP-1559 Fees**: Base-fee pricing with `eth_feeHistory` and priority fees, as on other Nitro chains
* **Full Node RPC**: The `eth_*` / `net_*` / `web3_*` surface plus `rpc_modules` and the `debug_*` trace namespace, over HTTP and WebSocket
* **Bitcoin DeFi**: Positioned as a programmable home for Bitcoin liquidity and BTC-denominated applications
