# eth\_getBalance - Celo

This method returns the balance of the account at a given address on the Celo network. The balance is returned in wei (the smallest unit of CELO, where 1 CELO = 10^18 wei). This method is essential for wallet applications, balance verification, and transaction preparation.

## Parameters
